Descanso y Consuelo / Music for Palliative Care

Getting Started

Circle of Love was founded in 1995. In 1997 it incorporated as a not-for-profit 501(c)3 tax deductible organization. Its mission is to provide palliative musical care (based in the field of music-thanatology) to the dying and those in grief and pain, and to conduct artistic and educational programs to deepen awareness and transform cultural models of death and dying.

What We've Been Doing:

As of the close of 2019, we have served just under 29,000 individuals in vigils or audience settings. We have created, produced and toured two performance pieces, Sailing by Night and Many Rivers, One Ocean. For four years we offered an annual holiday contemplative concert, Music for the Joy of a Quiet Heart, a non-denominational event hosted by St. Bede's Episcopal Church in Santa Fe. We continue to provide music vigils upon referral by community members and healthcare/hospice agencies.
